I have another question →How does a booking work?
The client sends a request with the price and conditions clearly shown. The owner reviews it and can accept or reject it.
Can I rent by the hour?
Yes. When the yacht offers this option, pickup and return take place on the same day.
Do I need a licence to rent a yacht?
It depends on the yacht. If it includes a skipper, you do not need a licence. For bareboat rentals, the listing states the qualification required and Lussea checks that you meet the requirement before allowing the booking.
Can I hire a skipper?
Yes. You can choose yachts whose listings state that a skipper is included. This is shown before booking together with the other features and conditions of the trip.
How does the security deposit work and when is it released?
The deposit is shown separately from the rental price and temporarily authorised on the card before the trip begins. If the yacht is returned without incidents, the authorisation is released; it is not an additional charge unless there is a justified claim.
What happens if damage occurs?
While the incident is being reviewed, the deposit and owner payout remain on hold. Once resolved, only the applicable amount is charged and the remainder of the deposit is released.
How do cancellations work?
The conditions depend on who cancels and how much time remains before the start. Before confirming the cancellation, Lussea shows the calculated refund and the amounts retained under the applicable policy. The security deposit is released separately.
What happens if the yacht is unavailable?
Availability is confirmed when the owner accepts the request. If they reject it or the yacht becomes unavailable, the booking is not confirmed and you can search for another yacht on Lussea.
How much does it cost to list my yacht?
Listing a yacht on Lussea is free. Lussea acts as an intermediary and applies its service commission only when a booking is completed. Amounts and conditions are shown transparently during the process.
How and when does the owner receive payment?
Payment is processed to the account configured by the owner once the booking has ended, the return has been confirmed and the deposit has been released. If an incident or refund is pending, the payout remains on hold until it is resolved.

Who is behind Lussea?
Created by Diego Arias and Mireia Aguilar, two professionals with years of experience in technology consulting and digital projects.
Diego specialises in software architecture, application development and artificial intelligence; Mireia is an economist, with training in project management and experience in business analysis, processes and digital product.
Both have been involved from the outset in defining, designing and building Lussea, combining business and technology to simplify the way people rent, list and manage a yacht.
